BIOGAS POWER PLANT

Oguzeli Biogas Power Plant

Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Central Biogas Power Plant has an installed capacity of 1 Megawatt. Ministry of Development provided a grant of 9,150,000.00 TL for the construction work. The project aims to dispose of cattle and chicken manure as well as grass waste mowed from parks used as raw material. The biogas power plant contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the city, increases soil fertility and prevents the pollution of clean water resources.

The Biogas Power Plant Project received 2017 Sustainable Business Award and 2018 Ideal City Award.

Oguzeli Central Biogas Power Plant is making efforts to receive "Carbon Certificate", based on the Qatar-based GCC (Globalcarbonncouncil) standard. With this project, our municipality will be one of the first municipalities to sell carbon thanks to renewable energy.

Our facility has been in operation since November 2018 and total electricity generation is 20,225 MW. 1,133 tons of carbon emissions have been prevented.

Bagbası Biogas Power Plant

Electricity generation license has been obtained for our project, which has an installed capacity of 3 MW in Bagbaşı neighborhood of Sahinbey district and was tendered based on the Build-Operate-Transfer method. With this facility, a total of 21 GWh of electricity energy is generated annually and 1,177 tons of CO2 emissions are prevented annually.

The plant uses 70% chicken manure, 25% cattle manure and 5% agricultural waste as raw materials to generate electricity.
