As Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, the Environment-IoT project, which enables us to work integrated with IoT technologies as one of our most important steps on the digitalisation path of the city, has been put into trial operation. Considering the principle "The production of hardware and software products used in the IoT ecosystem will be supported with domestic facilities" included in the 11th Development Plan, preparations for IoT efforts have already been initiated with the facilities of the institution.

Our devices which are firstly located in the city’s hotspots include the following:

• Temperature sensor,
• Humidity sensor,
• Noise sensor,
• Air quality sensor,
• Precipitation sensor, and
• Gas pressure sensor.  

Data management process has been structured with the Environment-IoT platform (environment.gaziantep.bel.tr), which enables the collection, storage and use of data instantly obtained by the sensor.

At the same time, data collected instantly is shared in live data format on Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Open Data Portal (opendata.gaziantep.bel.tr).
