Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality was the first municipality to prepare a Climate Action Plan in 2011, and a "Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan" was prepared in 2018. Having signed the Covenant of Mayors (COM) in 2017, our municipality is committed to reduce CO₂ emissions in our city by at least 80% by 2050. Actions have been identified with 52 project cards on issues related to emission reduction and more than 80% of the projects have been implemented.
