Zero Carbon Buildings Project will provide two-year technical assistance to project beneficiaries, Türkiye and Colombi, to develop and implement long-term roadmaps for the decarbonization of building sector. This program is implemented through Building Efficiency Accelerator (BEA) platform, a public-private partnership which is funded by Global Environment Facility (GEF) and helps national governments accelerate actions to improve their buildings.

There are three main fields of study of this project, local activities of which will be supported by WRI Türkiye Sustainable Cities:

1. Preparing national commitments and roadmaps for zero carbon building policies in the beneficiary countries of Türkiye and Colombia,

2. Preparing local strategies and actions for net zero carbon building implementation in the Turkish pilot cities of Gaziantep and Konya,

3. Supporting local and central governments' future large-scale activities through capacity building and technical support provided by the platform.
